Craig~
You are King of Cool maintaining your composure like that. I am not so sure I would have been so at ease in that situation. I would like to think I would be, but the proof is in the puddin'.
I am just glad you got the experience safely.

Kayaks / Re: Which kayak for a smaller girl?
« on: September 30, 2006, 10:18:34 PM »
For those of you who were at the Elk Tourney this year I think you will agree the seas were a little less than cooperative.
My girlfriend Becky paddled her P13 in thise seas with no problems at all. It is quite a seaworthy vessel.
Someone mentioned a 15 mile paddle in an earlier post. You have to be realistic when making your decision. Will the buyer really be making a 15 mile paddle?? How often will something like that occur? Get which ever kayak suits 95% of what you will be doing.

Way to go to all of you who participated. Water looks great.
What was the winning fish caught on?
Really interested in hearing about the different baits everyone used to hook up.

I have never been to Eagle lake but would be totally down for a trip there.
Cold weather is no biggie. Here's proof:

Ok Ok Ok. So maybe this is a shameless plug, but it is still a steal.
Great kayak fishing seat for probably half the price. We will have to wait and see.

I cannot tell you how pissed I am to hear about your truck. I goes beyond sucking! Not that it will do any good, but it won't do any harm either, I have eyes peeled on the Hwy 50 corridore to Tahoe. Ya never know. Fingers are crossed you get it all back in one piece. Tote

IMO Tahoe is too big, too deep and attracts WAY too many tourist $$$ for that to ever happen. It is a fine fishery as is. Like the saying goes, " If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

You could always put a 3rd handle on that ice chest.. :smt003
Any infraction they can pinch you on chances are they will .
They don't generate revenue by giving warnings.
I have seen some pretty ridiculous citations issued. Fortunately I have never received one, but I have had a close call.
One time I couldn't find my punch card. I knew it was in my truck. Already filled it out and got stopped at Stillwater North while loading my gear into my truck.
I could see the warden salivating as I frantically searched for it. Seemed to just vanish. Then my some miracle I saw a tiny corner of it sticking out.
Somehow it slid across my dashboard and fell in the tiny crack between the dashboard and side panel.
I did love the look of disappointment on his face when he saw I was legal.

GREAT POST!!!!
There sure seems to be a lot that goes into making a reel perform the way you want it to. I am sure the fishing gods will shine upon you after all the work you put into that baby. Looking forward to the report and a pic of the first fish you catch with that reel.
