General Talk / GWS Kayak Attack on Video
« on: May 19, 2017, 05:23:12 AM »
If this has already been posted...sorry. Been real busy lately and haven't kept up on reading all the posts.
The guy who was attacked said it happened about 10 minutes before the guy in the hotel started to video the ordeal.
That's a long time to be in panic mode.
Glad he made it out safe.
Amazing how the shark kept attacking the kayak.

General Talk / How Much Are We Tracked?
« on: April 09, 2017, 03:51:28 AM »
Intentional or coincidence?
Yesterday I replied to the thread, "How old is your oldest reel that you still fish".
This was my reply, "Pfluger Medalist  1494 1/2  30+years".
This morning I get an email from Amazon with the title:
"Pflueger President Spinning Re..." and more
Of course there are shopping recommendations based on previous Amazon purchases in the email which I understand, but I had no idea they were so assiduous in their tracking.

General Talk / Anyone Know About Automatic Transmissions? FIXED!!!!!!!!!
« on: February 12, 2017, 07:14:32 AM »
HD C6 tranny won't go into park. I can force the shifter into park, but the tranny isn't in park. If I slam it into park it will start and I can remove the key.
If I go under and manually move the linkage it goes no farther than reverse.
Everything worked fine until I replaced the tranny mount and cleaned the sludge off the linkage. I supported the tranny, transfer case and removed the cross member when I replaced the mount. Put everything back together the same as it came off.
Right now Rev, N, Drive, L2 and L1 work fine. Took it for a spin to verify that.
Pulled into the gas station, slammed it into park and it started to roll. That's how I know it isn't engaging and I never had any problems with it before.
Even if I moved the linkage while cleaning it off shouldn't the shifter engage where it should be and bring it all back to normal?
I'm baffled.
I'll take it in to the shop if I can't get it figured out today, but I'd rather try to get it figured out.

PM me if you have any real thoughts.
Thanks.

General Talk / My ENGLE 65 Ice Chest
« on: February 02, 2017, 05:35:48 PM »
Filled it with beer and put one 20lb bag of ice in it Friday morning around 9AM headed to Crabfest.
I just emptied it 5 minutes ago, nothing but Coke left, and it STILL had ice in it.
Friggin' love this thing!
6.5 days, one 20 lb bag, and still cold.
Worth every penny.

General Talk / Shout out for Ski Pro 3 -- Jerry
« on: December 05, 2016, 06:26:41 PM »
Most of you know by now Becky and I got a sweet deal on a really cool motorhome.
Well we want to protect our investment so we decided to get a carport (rv port?) for it.
I already prepared a spot to put it. Ordered 7 yards of gravel and spread it out. Not quite enough so ordered another 4 yards. Still not enough so got another 7 yards. That should do it.
The last 7 was dumped mostly in the back, which was not what I wanted but I can take care of it little by little.
Shopped around online for an rv port. Found one company and contacted them. They said between 8-10 weeks for delivery. WTF? Why so long?
After some haggling I got it down to 4-6 weeks. I emailed the signed contract back at 3:03AM Friday morning.
They call me Friday afternoon and say they will be here to install it on Monday!
That gave me 2 days to do 4 weeks worth of work!
I rented a bobcat on Saturday and moved a lot of the gravel from the back and thought I was close to getting the pad ready.
I emailed Jerry and another friend who I met through Jerry what was going on.
Without even asking they both showed up on Sunday with 2 compactors and a transit. Turns out I was WAY off on the grade towards the back and had to shovel most of what was in the middle to the sides while they checked for level and compacted everything.
The middle was significantly low so I decided to order another 7 yards to fill it before the rv port was put up.
They said they'd be here in 1.5 hours.
After an hour they called and said their driver went home sick and couldn't deliver until Monday at 8AM.
Well I had to work.
Jerry and his friend Wayne (my friend too) said they would be here for the delivery while I was at work.
I came home to nothing less than a miracle job they did for me.
I was absolutely blown away!
I was to meet the installers at 2 so I got off work a little early.
Jerry and Wayne both showed up a little before 2 to help out...without me even asking.
After several phone calls it turns out the installers won't be here until tomorrow at 10.
I can't be here because I have to work; but Jerry and Wayne both said they will be here to take care of things...again, without even asking them.
I can honestly say I've never had anyone be so helpful on so much work before in my life and literally ask for nothing in return.
They worked their asses off  for 2 days straight for a few beers and some pizza.
Jerry and Wayne are stand up guys through and through.
I want to thank you guys both and believe me when I say, I owe you BIG TIME!
Pics before and after.
