General Talk / Re: Bay Area Reel Repair
« on: January 25, 2024, 08:45:16 AM »
I have reel repair done with Todd's custom rod in Benicia before.  It is a one-man shop so there may be longer turnaround time.  Todd is a good dude and easy to work with.

For Sale / Yakima Skyline Towers - Set of 4 with keys - $50
« on: January 01, 2024, 02:53:51 PM »
Hello all,

Before I go the FB/CL/eBay route, I like to see if any NCKA folk can put these towers to good use.  I recently changed my ride which has a different rail system.

They are in good working order and come with locks and keys.  You will need to get the landing pads for sure.  Optionally, you may want to get the Yakima master key so that you can switch out the locks if you so choose.

Pick up in Benicia during workday lunch hours or Walnut Creek/Concord/PH area in the evenings or weekends.

Happy New Year!

I am disappointed beyond comprehension that I won't be able to come to the derby.  This stupid thing called work.  I had been so looking forward to this event for so long.

In a glass half full perspective, by this time next year, I should be either very close to or will be retired.  So, I will not have to bail out again.

You all have fun and slay them!

Let me know if you need a campsite. I might be able to secure one at Veterans Memorial campground for ya.

I would love to have a camp site.  I find it harder and harder to do same day trip.  Thanks.

Hey Lingkiller! Send me a reminder on the week of the tourney. I’ll need your name & vehicle info.

Howdy.  I sent you a reminder PM.  Hopefully there is still a site left.  Thanks.

Hello All, just wanted to see if anyone had a table or 2 we can borrow for the event. Also wanted to remind everyone to bring a descender if you have one. Its a potluck so bring something to show off your cooking skills!!

I have a picnic table (6ft?) that I am more than happy to loan out for the event.  However, I won't be able to carry it with me to the event because I will have a yak on my roof.  If someone who lives in the Concord/Walnut Creek area who can come by to pick it up before hand and take it down to the event, it would be great.

Just curious if anyone will be hitting Fort Ross this Saturday?  My son and I will be.

I booked a site at Van Damme from Friday-Sunday, with high hopes to fish Saturday and Sunday.  Only to realize that 1) the season actually begins on Sunday 2) Sunday is looking pretty gnarly.  Still bringing the kayak though. With a NW swell Van Damme can still be fishable.  Fingers crossed

Hi Jonathan

Let me know how your trip goes.  My wife and I will be heading the following weekend.

Paul

I booked a camp site at Salt Point for the weekend of 22nd.   As of now, it is looking borderline so hopefully the forecast will change for the better over next week.

Pay It Forward / Salt Point Camp Site for this Weekend
« on: May 25, 2023, 09:15:10 AM »
I have reservation for this weekend (Friday night through Sunday night) at Salt Point up in the Woodside loop but will not be able to go.  Site number is 101, which has lots of privacy but still close to water and bathroom.  It is large enough to easily fit two 6-person tents because it is flat and backs up to wooded area.

Sorry for the late notice.  I'm hoping to find someone who can put it to good use.

Just registered.  It will be my first derby.

Just curious about the parking situation since I have not done this before.  I imagine it will be tight so any tips/info will be appreciated.  Thanks.

For Sale / Re: Hobie Oasis for Sale

What year is it?

I'm intrigued about the prospect of taking a guide client out on something like this.

Hi Eric

If you get an Oasis, make sure to install SIDEKICK AMA KIT, from experience.

Paul

I second.  My son and I used to fish off from the OASIS when he was younger.  After our first outing at TC when we took a drink, we installed the Sidekick and the improvement in stability was noticeable.  This would be especially true with two adults.

Thanks for all the replies.  I actually didn't know about the adapter from RAM that takes advantage of the sail mast.   Just curious:  with the FF at the sail mast location, do you still find it convenient to reach the buttons then?  Thanks.
