I have been using Jack Daniels hickory smoked mustard for a long time it seem they are no longer making it. Its has a smokey, spicy flavor to it and I need to find a replacement for it. So might be a silly question what do you mustard connoisseurs like to use. No sweet mustards.

General Talk / Fishermans Warehouse Rant

I bought a Lamiglas X11 rod in the middle of June. I have not used this rod yet and found a defect on one of the eyes. It has clear hardener inside the eye so I called FWH to see if they had an other rod. They do so I explain the problem to them and I get no we wont replace it we can send it to Lamiglas for 20.00 bucks they take care of this problem. I explain it is new never used, the guys tone "attitude" gets rude. This is the first time I ever had a problem with FWH I never have had this problem with Coyote bait and tackle or Mel Cottons. If they had a replacement they would replace it sense it was never used. Pissed me off.

General Talk / Always amazes me

Sitting in my garage watching this storm pass thru listening to the thunder and seeing the lightening strike. It is beautiful and frightening at the same moment. My dog Zander an 85lbs. yellow lab has now a become a lap dog shaking like a jackhammer. The lighting strikes and 7 to 8 seconds go by and the thunder rolls across the sky so loud the car alarms go off, you can feel the power as it passes from one side of the valley to the other for nearly 30 seconds at the most.
It gives me goosebumps all over. Its just amazing

So my son is running around the shop all happy yelling I hit 5 numbers. So I tell him your full of sh!t. No dad I did I hit 5 numbers I won thousands. I tell him let me see the ticket. He shows me and I say to myself son of b you hit 5 numbers and only one off the mega. While studying the ticket I see a problem. I tell him to tell his wife to take back the new dress cause your a week off. Now my new name is Daddy downer. He was so close.

Safety First / Stoned again

I don't like whats going on, seems I just have to deal with it. Wednesday about 11:00 pm I wake up with this familiar pain in my back. I know its the same thing as last time. Kidney stones. I hung on till 2:00 am Thursday then headed to the hospital. I was in luck it was a slow night and I got right in. They had me in a room before my wife parked her car. Now that's service. What luck!
After squirming a while they had it under control and they sent me for x-rays. Yep stones 3 of them I passed one there and later that night a 3mm one. On the up side I got 4 days off of work.
On the down side I have one still in the kidney a 2mm at this point. Just cant wait to pass this one. The ones did pass are going to analyzed to see whats going on here. I did take note of you guys telling me to drink more water and I have done so. I do still have a diet coke a couple times a day also I drink iced tea. I wonder what eles it could be?

Well see you on the water sometime.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Late report non yak Delta

Went out with a friend I grew up with Junior high and high school . Now lives in Idaho who I have not seen in years. We left San Jose about 5:00 am Friday. Headed up the freeway N280 to N680
East on 580 to Vasco Rd. Talking of the old days. Missed the Vasco rd. turn off. Talking to much.
Turned around at grantline and headed back to Vasco. After stopping for some gas and a breakfast burrito we made ot to Orwood resort. lanched about 7:30 am. We went to all the way over to east side Whites slough and caught nothing till 1:00pm and the wind was howling the whole time. I finally work out a pattern and started catching fish. 5 inch Senko and brush hogs worked but only on the banks that went north to south. Did not catch a fish on any banks going east to west. Go figure thats a first for me. Most fish were 3 to 4 pound range. Of course I lost a large one 8 to 10 pound range.

Safety First / Got Stoned tonight

NO NO NO not that kind of stoned. Kidney stoned. This was a first time for me and take my word for it you do not want this happening to you. Its Tuesday 3:00 am and I just got in from the E.R. The whole event started around noon time Monday at work. I had the urge to go but not much happen, so no big deal. Get back to the job and 5 minutes later the urge again so back to the restroom for another try, now such luck. After work I get home and right to the bathroom and success I pee. Wow what a relief. About 4:30 I feel cold and clammy, I got to pee and I feel sick. WTF is going on with me? Half and hour later no difference plus I got the chills. So its time to call the hospital. I call well my wife calls I could not talk at the time. I am also diabetic and this has never happened to me.
I got to tell you its the most pain I have ever felt and not looking to do this again. So here I sit high on morphine ( good stuff ) getting ready to pass another stone and get on with my life. Hopefully I wont take long. Well I am going to call work to tell them that I wont be in today and hit the sack.
Everybody take care of your self and drink plenty of water.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Sherman Island gives it up

Went out Friday. Hit the incoming tide about 7:00am. First tulle pt we fished had a limit.
Ended up catch and releasing 12 from 18 to 26 inch kept 2 small ones. My son had 10 and kept ed 2. Done by 10:00am. We were fishing the flats with lipless crankbaits when the tide was moving. When it was slack went to 12 to 20 ft. and drifted minnow. Both technique worked well.
No photo of because lack of camera. Got home cleaned fish.
