Got a call from my friend that he was hitting Loch Lomond on Tuesday, Monday afternoon late, (short notice) we met at the lake 9am and on the water by 9:30ish.  Weather was beautiful!  No wind, water glassy!  I trolled a white roostetail, near the top for the first hour or so with only 1 tiny hit.  Stopped trolling and headed across the lake to some reeds and tried for bluegill, but no one was home, no bites no hits, nada.  Tried a hunk of red worm and still no action.
Decided to resume trolling, this time I attached a small flasher rig and trailed the white roostertail about 2.5 ft behind it.  First pass near the dam, I hooked up a 14" rainbow.  He was deep, as he hit while on a sharp turn. Took a photo of it then released it.  On the way back towards teh narrows,  my buddy yells out "I'm snagged!  I checked the water depth, and told him "No your NOT! were in 113' of water!  Just then, his snag, snagged back!.  He had a fish on!.  Turned out to be a little 10"er rainbow.  He released it.  I can't remember the name of the lure he was using  ( I know the name just can't think of it!)but it was basically a U with space tape and a trebble.
No more hits for the rest of the time on the water.  Off the lake around 1:30pm.  Was  nice to get out again!

Word I got was most of the fish are still 20-25 feet down on the troll.

After a large absence I am thinking about hitting it up at the loch this saturday.  I will know tomorrow.

My life needs some stability soon or I am going to freak out.

Yep, same one. I had a small cabin in Mt. Hermon which overlooks the road to Loch Lomond. Felton is the small town at the beginning of the road to the lake; btw the Rite-aid has a small tackle selection. That area is great for catching snakes and lizards and the creek walking is the bomb. Plenty of fish in that area.

I was catching snakes and lizards when I was a wee lad, no biggy getting used to them with the right people. The river from the old covered bridge to the bay is great for bass and trout. They also have Lamprey, Steelhead and salmon. What was fun was bringing a facemask and watching the trout suspend in the water in the current. Easy to catch the lamprey as they die after spawning and make good bait for sturgeon. Nice pools farther down the river.
