Anyone know where they offer classes for this? Being watermen that we are, I think it's important that we should be certified for this.

Search the American heart association website I believe Red Cross puts a class as well. They should be able to list locations. Being in the emergency medical field CPR saves live with out a doubt. Also having a really good friend that survived a heart attack by his wife's quick intervention with CPR. He survived with no deficits and walked out the hospital. She just completed the class 2 weeks prior to his heart attack.

If anyone wants to organize a class for NCKA, Im in :smt045

I had plans on organizing a class at Aquan Sports way back when (we had a scuba instructor that was certified to teach) but there was a conflict on scheduling with the instructor.

Hey Mooch,

I know we talked about putting on a class through my department for all interested NCKA members, but life has pretty hectic with the new kid. However, there are always classes going on for folks that live in the south bay for $55 and they are usually taught at the classroom at the Sunnyoaks Fire Station in Campbell. For more info:

Who knows, maybe I'll sign up to be the instructor if enough of you sign up for a particular day... :smt002

@ Dan and Victor - do you think we could do one of those in Lodi?

I used to be CPR certified but it lapsed a few years back, so I would be interested in attending for a refresher.

I think instructors (through orgs such as American Red Cross) have to do volunteer activities during the year as part of their instruc. cert.

Maybe we could get an instructor who would be willing to do a class as community service? Or perhaps the coast guard (or simular) to do one as a part of boat safety?

'Just some ideas to help keep the costs down.
