General Fishing Tips / Russian River fishing?
« on: June 03, 2015, 06:59:02 AM »
I grew up fishing the small rivers of Louisiana in the Florida Parishes, north of La, but am now in Napa part time.  Napa River is pretty muddy and i've had no luck kayak fishing there.  I read about some canoe trips on the Russian River, and wondered if anyone fished there?  I would probably launch upriver of the memorial beach area, as that looks like where all the outfitters start.  Any lure suggestions?  Is there a water level posted online that i could check to ensure enough water to float?  Would consider launching at Geyserville or where Hwy 128 crosses a little downstream.  Also, is there public water access at these bridges?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Introductions / Napa part timer
« on: July 24, 2013, 04:07:41 AM »
Hello, I'm Greg, and I live in Napa about 10 days a months, the rest in Central Louisiana.  I brought my Native Magic 14.5 in January, but have yet to figure out the fishing scene over here.  In La I fish for trout, redfish and flounder in the brackish marsh, and bass, crappie and panfish in the lakes and bayous.  I also do some bow hunting and small game hunting in La.  Looking forward to getting some tips on the outdoor scene here in Northern Ca.
