Avet SX G2 Series Single Reel for Kayak Rock Fishing?

I ended up getting a OKUMA METALOID 5NII reel for $159.  It is very similar to Avet SXJ two speed reel.

Okuma's Metaloid series has been a fantastic winner for this major league firm.  The 5 and 5 narrow two speeds are among the most useful reels a person can own, all metal construction, powerful two speed gearing, capable of taking large fish, and  with a fantastic 3 year parts and labor warranty from the manufacturer.  Okuma created the strongest performance verses price series of reels on the market with their introduction of the Metaloid series. The value gets no better for a two speed reel, made from metal not plastic, with high drag capability, excellent freespool performance, from a major manufacturer... Rugged, capable, worthy of owning for many, many years to come. Backing up that point with a THREE YEAR WARRANTY (verses industry standard 1 year warranty).

 One piece frame and left sideplate, 6061 T6 Machined aluminum frame and sideplates. The reels are cold forged (same process as the infamous bike makers $500 models...), type 2 anodized. The spools are made from machined aluminum. They feature a corrosion resistant coating process as well as the anodizing for dealing with saltwater corrosion issues. All reels in the series offer 4 ball bearings and best of all they offer 17-4 grade stainless steel helical cut gears!. The drag system benefits from Cal's drag grease and Carbonite drag washer. All models offer a loud clicker, and the freespool performance is simply amazing. Note the well thought out gear ratios of these reels, at 6.4:1 high on the 5's, dropping down to 3.8:1 and for the 12's at almost 5:1 dropping down to a head turning 2:1 low gear.  Well thought out, reflecting what's appropriate for their intended line class applications.

I was sold on 3 years warranty.

I have several Avet reels. The newer versions dont have the issues like the old ones. I still rinse off my gear before I head home and then rince it again before I store it away.... make your investment last. But over all they are great reels and may be overkill on the drag but I still would rather have too much than not enough. I havent seen the okumas. Deffently going to check them out.
