Went to Santa Cruz yesterday to test paddle the new "Raptor".  Met Jim at the marina and I test paddled it around the harbor for about 1/2 hour.  Like it so much I bought it on the spot and took it home.  Thank you Jim for the demonstrations and a great deal.  Can't wait to take it out this Sunday for the clamming at Tomales bay.

Sweet, you planning on getting the sail?

I got a Hobie sail already.  I'll try to mount it on the Raptor if possible.

:smt103 You went for it! Nice man. I can't wait to see photos of how you rig it and hear your review after you paddle it for a while. Jim is a neat guy and I really commend him for stepping outside the box with this kayak. Its guys like him that will take the sport into new waters. I liked Jim because he is a real deal fisherman and paddler, and not some dude trying to turn a quick buck. Congrats on the yak! I'm stoked for you.  :smt003

Awesome new boat! Been reading more and more good things about that yak; might just have to add it to my quiver...

Can't wait to see it on the water...

I talked to one of the guys from Kayak Fishing Magazine online and he said it was one of his best read kayak reviews. It defiantly grabs some attention.

Congrats and nice color!  Is that how you plan on transporting it and are there any warping concerns?

Thank you all.

Nudling,
The bottom is solid, no concern about warping at all.

FishingAddict,
That would be 5 for now.  Thinking about reducing back to 4 unless my wife said I can keep all  :smt003

Jedmo,
Anytime my friend  :smt001

Congrats Sonny! Please do a review when you have a chance. I'm especially interested to know how it handles the surfs during launch and landing. How well does it paddle?

thx,
ernest
