Did anyone else see this week's episode of Angler West TV?  Featured this guy Marshall Stickrod (great name lol) that launched his "dory" boat from shore.  His dory was a little center console wood boat that he trailered down to the surf, transom first, then physically turned the bow 180 into the surf and gunned it through small breakers.  sort of similar to a yak surf launch.

Right around haystack rock, they were banging big schoolie rockfish left and right on jigs.  Then moved to a surface bite on swimbaits for more rockies.  Finally, they finished off limits of dino lings.

I was waiting to see the video of the landing, which sure looked like it could get pretty sporty.  BUT the vid cut out and they were charging back into the surf zone.

looked very fun, considering giving this guide a shot!  Nevermind the nasally voice . . .

episode runs on CSN, but here's a link to the youtube channel.

They also soak traps for dungies on the way to the fish grounds.
Seriously, check out the episode.  They have some footage from what appears to be a Wolf HD underwater camera that shows several jig strikes.  VERY cool.

I thought backing in a PB into a fast moving river was sketchy... That was awesome.  Hitting the surf to land at 25+ mph... wish the camera was still rolling  :smt103

Right?!?!

I remember trying this once in a panga in Mexico asa a very young kid. Scary!  We took a wave broadside coming in and gear went flying everywhere.

At least that Oregon beach looks shallow not a shore dump.
