Check with moving companies... I work for one in Sacramento. We do office moves and rebuilds all the time. Sometimes multiple tractor trailer loads of office furniture are destined for recyclers or the dumps.

Sometimes office furniture recyclers/retailers will take the stuff off our hands, saving us the cost of disposal. So, used office furniture retailers would be a secondary source for you.
