These are great to use for keeping your terminal tackle dry (hooks,swivels,pre-tied leaders...ect)
I filled some foam peanuts in one of the zip lock bags to keep the pack afloat - in case you drop it   :smt088

You can even get the bigger models to carry lures (jigs,spoon...ect)

Most come with handles that you can leash  :smt023

OR.................

You can use one of these and simply zip lock all your lures & teminal tackle separately (for organization) and stick 'em in this dry box

My favorite tackle box is a tupperware container about 11 by 8 inches. I then put my fishing lures and equipment in ziplock baggies. I group some things together in the baggies but the idea is the tupperware container gets a little water in it from taking stuff in and out.

This way I can pull out a couple of baggies and put them at a handy position in the kayak and put the container back in the hatch or whatever. The baggies in front of me will usually float if I keep them sealed if they aren't the ones full of lead weights. Oh, did I say not to put all your weights in one baggy!

You can get the tupperware containers at most grocery stores and I use a couple. I try to put rock fish stuff in one and salmon in another, but there is overlap.

I also went from using the clear Plano boxes to Tupperware containers.  They're much more waterproof.  The Plano boxes with the rubber gasket don't work as advertised.

I just checked out some plano boxes I bought last year.  Cheap gasket.  It cracked big time all around the seel.  That's why they don't last too long.  I'm going to flip the gaskets over as the other side looks good and see if I can get 1 more season out of them.  Perhaps I can find some better quality gaskets.  I'll post if I do.

Wow!  I didn't know that o-rings were so complicated.  I have the Plano 3640 boxes.  The stock o-ring in them is a very soft material.  As far as I can tell, EPDM or Silicon o-rings are the way to go.  However, these are a much harder material.  I don't know if the mechanics of the Plano boxes will work well with this material.  In fact in looking at the boxes as they sit now, the corners seem to warp up, probably the week point in the boxes as not as much pressure is applied at these points.  I can get a 4 pack of EPDM o-rings that fit these boxes for $13.  I have 3 of the boxes so that's not too bad for pricing.  I guess I'll just have to try it out.  I'll order some up and let you know what happens.

You will have to take off the wet suit.  I find waders much more comfortable and warmer.  It is also easier to go.

I have tried those Plano bait boxes and they are cheap.  They don't do as well as Tupperware.  I usually have 3 small Tupperware containers with me.  1 for all the stuff I have used.  1 for plastics and  1 for Irons.
The plastics are stored in zip locks.

I also carry a Pelican Case (1060) for my camera, cell phone, wallet, extra batteries, and car keys.

You could do that, but then it gets cold.  After living in Southern Cal for the past 8 years, my blood is thin.

Actually I have found that it stays very warm in the wet suit.  When you get cold water in your wetsuit it may take it a few minutes to warm up but when you GO in your wetsuit it is already warm and stays that way.  I also have the zipper on the front which I sometimes use.  I have yet to try to stand up on my yak on the ocean though. :smt104

No need to stand up Travis, just take a leak in your yak, it will wash out assuming your scuppers are not plugged.

Yep... zipper in the front makes it easy to "run the bildge pump".   :smt002
