Anybody ever launch from Alviso? Mountain View? Palo Alto?  Milpitas? I'm looking for something close to San Jose.  With all the rain dumping in from the coyote there's gotta be some fish around.  I haven't fished the area since I was a kid but I remeber it being a pain to navigate and when returning on a low tide we had to pull some risky manuevers to get back.  Any tidal info, launch locations, paddle distance to fishable water, general wind info?????? Anyone interested in exploring the area?

Hey Art,

Ken and I are thinking of hitting the Sturgeon tomorrow at the Dumbarton area...(instead of going to the Forebay) we are still trying to figure out a launch spot as well. Ken had mentioned about a Palo Alto launch site but was worried about car theft in the area.

We will be posting a launch site by the end of the day.

Company welcome!

Here's a decent southbay trails map with potential launch spots.  I have to work tomorrow but feel a sturgeon fever coming on.   I'll talk to the boss and see if I can play hookey.

Art - Coyote Point tomorrow (noon till sundown). John,Ken,Mike and I so far....anyone else?

Mike drove down there this afternoon and found about 70 guys lined up in the shore - don't know if anyone landed a keeper....yet. John will drive later and see what the action is like.

Baby's sick and I'd probably succumb too if I sat in the rain all day.  Mom needs a break from him badly.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
