Title: Folsom Lake Granite Bay skunk/fail video report
Post by: MooMoo Outdoors on August 16, 2017, 02:43:53 PM
Went out to Folsom Lake Granite Bay on 7/29 for early morning bass fishing. With fishing finder malfunctioning, forgetiing a hat, losing a rod, losing a key and getting one bite with no hook up, it was ROUGH day.

At 5:43 ish your rod float on one of your other rods also looks like it is about to fall off.
I don't think it would have kept your rod from sinking if it went over too.

Better luck next time  :smt001

S**t like that happens, doesn't matter what you're doing, working on a car, cooking a meal, taking a trip, some days it's just everything.

But thanks for the post up, it reminds me of things I'll probably forget next time.

I've got a checklist and a routine, without it I'm just a disaster waiting to happen.

I've got a certain amount of stuff that always resides in the hull, I think I'm gonna add some sort of lightweight emergency hat.  With my skin that would a show stopper.

When I have kayak fishing days like that I always tell myself "hey, at least I didn't drown".

Any idea how deep it was there?
Maybe you could go back with a mask and snorkel?
Give this video a quick watch and next time, and there is always a next time, you won't lose a rod.
Good luck next time.

I noticed that too. Gotta make sure the float is on correctly. Thanks

Definately a check list. Thanks

That was classic.  Love your commentary on what happens.  Been there done that.

Damn ruff day. You handled yourself well under the circumstances though.
