Just bought an old Point Defiance boat (12') from Gig Harbor Boat Works, with the little sloop rig. Not much sailing experience but thinking about taking a learn to sail course up at Lake Natoma. Probably will mostly be rowed, but I like the idea of doing some lake sailing from time to time.

Really cool hearing from those that do sail, but I'm sad not one picture has been posted of your boats!  Lets see some cool boat pics  :smt003

I know that the Santa Cruz Harbor has some sort of sailing deal with these tiny white sailboats that can be easily recovered when flipped.  That looks like a fun way to get wet  :smt005

I've been seeing deals every once in a while on HobieCat 16's, should have jumped on one that was for free in the winter.  Seems like that would be fun to sail in the bay, maybe delta?  But getting on someone else's boat does sound like a lot of fun too, so I think I will be looking to make some new friends.

Only sail boat I've been on was a very long time ago, a friend of my pops that had one on Clear Lake.  With the number of powerboats I see at every lake I've been fishing, wondering what other lakes a good for sailing?  Maybe that would be fun with the AI humm..

You have an AI so what do you want one for hah.
A friend had one and it was just a lot of boat and storage space. I think it was the 18 model. We did a bay trial run once and that was enough   :smt003
