Who's fishing this one?  And could you use some company?   :smt006

-Allen

Hi Allen,
My wife and I are leaving Berkeley around 4am and probably hit up a few spots along the Hwy 1.  Montara, San Gregorio, Davenport, etc... until we reach Santa Cruz and check-in time.

Let me know if you want to join.

This thread has been  a little quite?  Looks like I won't be able to make it,  drywall getting hung. I already bucked 70 sheets of 1/2" 165 feet to the "shack". Any way I can have someone else pick up my shirts (2)? Hoping to make it for just the BBQ, but it starts at 1pm and I won't be able to get away until 330-430pm.

My wife and I are participating and fishing.   We plan to head back to Milpitas for dinner plans after the awards/BBQ.  I can meet up with you somewhere nearby.

CA Regulations / Re: 2nd rod in San Pablo Bay?
« on: February 09, 2018, 08:04:22 AM »
That 2nd rod stamp is only allowed for inland waters and east of the Carquinez bridge (I believe).
I run into so many guys who misunderstand this.  Only way to use two rods/rigs/traps in the SF and SP Bay would be off a public fishing pier.

As for when the 2nd rod stamp comes into effect for inland waters, I can't remember if it's east of the Carquinez Bridge or east or the Benicia bridge.
Carquinez bridge. In the image I posted above, it is clearly stated, in the regs not so much. I think they decided since piers in ocean waters in general are limited to two poles instead of unlimited like most ocean waters they would allow two poles everywhere including in the bay where normally it's one pole max.

Thanks!

Eddie, you got lucky!  $700 ticket could have easily bought you another kayak!

Again, that's why I mentioned "public fishing pier".
Not all docks, piers, or jetties are recognized as county/state public fishing piers.  If they're not, then they fall under the same regulations as fishing from shore.  1 rod/line/rig/trap and license required.

Eddie is correct. I've been approached at nearly every pier inside the Bay and this was never as issue.
It is read as separate items. Two rods or handlines refers to fin fish and the two nets, traps or other appliances refer to crabs.

Yo Pete!
You finally joined!  Welcome.  Looking forward to finally fishing with you on the water... and not from shore all the time.

Cheers!

My family and I will be at CrabFest.  My parents live in Milpitas and are joining us on Saturday for the CrabFest festivities.

If you can get the package to my parents in Milpitas, then she can bring it up on Saturday morning.

Kevin

PM me and we can arrange it.

How about from Crabfest to Milpitas?  Will that work?  Thanks in advance!

That's fine.  I'm heading up on Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday afternoon.  Let's hook up at CrabFest Saturday.

Come join us at Doran beach.
There will be at least 100 of us there.  Plenty of knowledge (and food) to share with you.

If you're really going to Dillon, then beware of the Tomales Bay mouth and the tides.  The current can really rip through that area and it can get dicey if you not keeping track of where you are.  If you're set on Dillon, then might be worth going down to Lawson's Landing and drop traps inside the Bay.

Otherwise, join us at Doran beach.  There should be 100 or us or so there all weekend.
