Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Wheelez Repair
« on: July 01, 2022, 05:11:15 PM »
Had the same issue on my wheelez and reach out to the company to see if they had scrap pieces to make a repair. They sent me a little baggie of shredded polyurethane (same stuff they use to make the wheels). Then went to town with my soldering iron and it came out great.

Great post Chet.

Too many gone too soon.   :smt009

I got to dive with Antonio’s son awhile back…and I think about him and Rob and Joel and others a lot.

This post made me think about Mooch, whom I've actually never met but only heard so much about. He was the soul of this community/board and surprisingly some of his words I've seen have had an impact on me. Sounded like he got this thing called life right. Wish I had the chance to meet him...

General Talk / Re: Wild Irish Salmon
« on: June 30, 2022, 05:26:16 AM »
Thanks for sharing this. I can say that Irish salmon is some of the best salmon I’ve ever had…not sure if it’s the salmon itself or how they prepared it, or both. Had the chance to eat some in Northern Ireland several years ago and was very memorable.

For Sale / Kokatat drysuit at REI SF
« on: June 23, 2022, 08:21:10 PM »
Not mine but saw this at the REI in SF today for a used Kokatat Supernova Angler M dry suit. Condition looked almost new from what I saw.

$385 , but sold as is and no warranty.

Craftsmen's Corner / Re: cheap carry handles for my Hobie

Love these inexpensive diy solutions. A wise man also told me to install two handles so you can use both hands to tow your kayak. He never broke a sweat lugging his AI around.

Keys to salmon fishing …don’t give up but learn the patterns…have fun with it …including the highs and lows. 😀

General Talk / Re: how do you test your Shark Shield?
« on: May 15, 2022, 09:45:06 PM »

Zap yourself and feel good that the shark will get the same zap if they approach  :smt005

That was really my last resort 😆

You should be able to place one probe high up on the “tail” and the other lower down and see the spikes. You might have to poke the probes in just a bit to get thru the outer mesh. At least that’s the way I remember it working—my SS has been out of commission for a while.
This was it, thx NWM. Took a few tries but got a reading.. wasn’t what I expected. It was pulsating every 1-2 seconds on an amp reading and the probes located exactly where you said :) imma have to come back to this thread to remind myself what I did haha

General Talk / how do you test your Shark Shield?
« on: May 15, 2022, 08:48:22 AM »
hey shark shield owners, how do you test that your unit is properly working without zapping yourself from grabbing the antenna tail or purchasing their tester? I've got a voltage meter, but not exactly sure where to place the probes.

I heard of someone catching halibut in the bay on sand fleas, so why not RF?

yup, i think those pins are meant to be taken off depending on what version of the mirage drive slot is used.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Low-nda Mar
« on: April 23, 2022, 07:10:41 PM »
LM is a Goldilocks launch. If the tide is too high there's no beach and if it's too low your dragging your yak through the pumpkin patch. The tide has to be just right. You also have to contend with the surfers when you land. I would rather launch at Rockaway and pedal a bit more if I want to go to Pedro.
