Try Bullhead Flat (China Camp) at Rat Rock (San Pedro Channel) in San Rafael. It is right off 101.  :smt004

Yeah, still around. I don’t get out the kayak unless there is a good SF Bay bite like at Rat Rock, ARW, or OAP

Hey all, Red here   :smt006   Haven't been riding my old Fish N Dive in a while.

Was wondering where the keeper halibut have been because the keepers have dropped off and many, many, short fish.

Places I have thought about dropping in:  Alameda Rockwall, Ferry Point, Berkeley Pier, San Pablo Yacht Harbor.

No exact spots of course, just an idea of what direction the fish are in...
Thanks for any reports... and a heck of a year...

BTW - is there going to be a San Pablo Yacht Harbor get-together this year?

6
Yes, inquiring minds want to know... Also, is that area safe for your vehicle, like at the park near the bank there?....

Thanks for the reply!

Hey guys.... I want to add flush mount pole holders to my old Fish n Dive. 1. Do you know who has these on sale? Is West Marine a good vendor?  Rivets or regular stainless bolts?

Insane Duane from his forum used to be a master at this stuff but I haven’t seen nor heard from him in a few....

Thanks for any 411 ...Red

WTG!  I saw someone with a yellow yak on 10/11 off TI.   Ghosts out there too...  :smt004.   Can you launch at TI? Does anyone know?

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: What length rod for kayak fishing?
« on: January 31, 2020, 06:02:21 PM »
Shimano Trevala 6.6 or 7.  What others have said, make sure you can reach forward and swing the rod over the bow. I did this and made about a 300 degree turn around my kayak counterclockwise, missed my anchor rope to land a sturgeon. Chucky and JohntheFisherman were there.

Aka new Maurader I think?

Okay, maybe I missed reviews on this already? I am still using my old Cobra Fish n Dive.
Thinking about this newer Hobie. Comments on this low cost Hobie Drive appreciated by those who own, have used, or have intel on.

•How is the weight and set up (of the Drive) on this puppy?
•Does it keep up with the pack (as my Cobra is slow as molasses without a motor)?
•Is it suitable for S.F. Bay fishing as far as stability?
Thanks for any info!
I see REI is a vendor. Perhaps the best price or same anywhere at $1229?

Any intel on Sturgeon bite around Oakland Airport? Thinking about going this Saturday, 1/20 ....
Let us know and post a report. There was a recent spawn there so it’s possible.
No reports from Insane Duane and Dave Rotramel to alert the troops about OAP anymore. Dave is MIA
