Ive been looking for a SOT for a month or so now, considerations being that it needs to fish both fresh and salt water,  and needs to keep up with my wife and daughter in their neckys when we just go out paddling.    I ended up getting the manta ray 14 over at Clavey and am currently trying to decide how to pimp it up.    Wondering if there are any others using this yak and any thoughts on how it handles the coastal waters.. how well it does for fishing and etc.     I would also love to hear how anyone has rigged one for fishing.. ive got a ton of ideas from this site so far but I have not started working on it.

Going to be spending some quality time with it this weekend, prob at lake Sonoma, practice getting on and off of it in deep water and etc and maybe hit Tomales.   Cant wait!  :smt004

I've got the 12' and have been using it in the bay and out on the big blue.  On both sides behind the seat I installed flush angled rod holders (angled out and back).  On the angle of the center console is my fishfinder and on the flat directly above is my Scotty rod holder.  On the rod holder I am using an 8" extension to raise the butt of the rod above my legs when angled sideways.  I also installed a wooden wedge under the base to anlge it back towards me slightly (just enough so that I don't have to over stretch to grab my rod).  Beyond that I haven't really done anything else.  I did remove the back bungee cord so my cooler fits better.  Installed 5 4" pool noodles for yak floatation, stuffed under the back deck and along the sides mid-yak, leaving the forward section open for storage.
