As a pro staff for O.K., I think this yak is really cool. But I have to wonder what these guys are thinking. The kayak craze exploded due to the simplicity. Light, simple, efficient. It seems like the latest thought from kayak  mfgr's is to send their customers back to the P.B. industry.
Don't get me wrong, there is a place for everything, but who wants to drag our a 100lb yak, a 50lb battery, not to mention all their gear? At that point, I could just hitch up the boat I had and be on my way.
I'm ready for my old Prowler 15, light fast and efficient.

Are those things allowed in the tourneys put on by NCKA?

Seems it gives the lazy ass advantage to an angler for traveling farther distances.

Too much Gucci shit in this sport nowadays.

That's up to the tourney director. NCKA doesn't put on tourneys, its members do.  The only tourney that's officially a "NCKA" tourney is AOTY/DOTY.  Others are allowed to use NCKA to solicit members and such and may be approved by NCKA for logo use, etc, but the NCKA isn't running them.

I think its still pretty innovative.  Seems like Johnson is doing a decent job with splitting its brands.  Old town is now taking on more of the flatwater scene and OK is sticking to its bluewater roots.

Gotta enjoy the business acumen of this gigantic multinational corporation.  The use of the MinnKota branding will definitely help them with the recreational fishermen set.

OK that actually looks kinda cool.
Although...it's not really "hands-free" if you have to use your hands to controls the motor LOL...

I think it's cool too. But if I'm going to drop that kind of coin, it would be an hobie AI.

I think PK was talking about the advertising aspect of it.

"The foot-controlled rudder system for hands-free operation in forward or reverse sets the Predator XL apart from the competition, helping to control the boat confidently in wind and current, when fishing in tight spots or where fish are holding close to structure."

Of course we're just splitting hairs and having a little fun at their expense.  Are modular inserts the next big innovation in kayak fishing?  Wildy has one for its Threshers, now OT is doing one for the Predator XL..

Got to play with it last week, wider more stable predator. I paddled it and used the motor. quick switch between both. the motor option has USB ports in the hatch for phone or camera recharge from the main battery. It paddled better than a lot of wide kayaks I have tested.

If you upgrade to the motor console you also need to buy the rudder.
