I am selling my Humminbird 17 with a cover.  You can see it here => http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=4374.msg35454#msg35454.  There is nothing wrong with it, I'm just upgrading to a Garmin 498.  It is still mounted on the kayak and I may leave it there until it is sold or use 2 ff?

Didn't know how much to sell the thing so how does $80 sound?

ISDA, I also would like to know the price. I also have a couple questions about your Prowler. Tell me what you have done with that small flat space between your legs. It comes from the factory with a bungie there but you have a cover. What is underneath?
Second question, I see that you have your battery in your tackle box. How do you route the wires from the battery to the FF?

Danglin, if you want it, it's yours.   I'm not local and I don't think I'll be able to pick it up for a while so just trying to avoid hassles for everyone.  Otherwise I'll take it.   If you don't mind holding on to it for a month or so, I can send you a check.

The white board is polyethylene and is glued to the kayak.  If you need to cut bait or anything this is the material to use.  No leaks in this kayak, I'm paranoid of the possibility of sinking.  Let's just say this yak is filled with floation foam and will never sink GUARANTEED.  Even the portal cover is heavily caulked with silicon and does not leak.  I read about leaking portals covers so I bought one from west marine to make sure it was designed to be leak proof.  The wires go through the FF mount and is heavily caulked with silicon (again no leaks).  There is actually a battery in the front that is being held in place by a square Styrofoam.  The square foam fits tight and won't move.  The battery in the back is for the live well tank and will power the pump all day.  I tested it in Half Moon Bay and none of the bait died.

So I got bored and did a test run mounting two FF.  I'm waiting for my Garmin InHull Transducer (came with a rear mount transducer).  I'll do a comparison of the two FF if I still have it.  There is more electronics on this kayak than some fishing boats out there.

Yea, I think I'm going a little overboard on this kayak.  My friends with boats think I have gone crazy.  They saw my bait tank and said it rivals the system on their boat except mine is in a SUV.  I  have the ability to recycle/filter water in the tank as well as change the tank water in less than 15 minutes without affecting the bait.  It's a crazy setup with 2 pumps.  One for pumping water in and one for cycling.  Duane would be proud of me if he saw it in action.
