In light of the upcoming Ocean Kayak Trident, Aquan sports (one of NCKA's sponsors) will be selling their stock of Prowler 15's and P13's at 25% OFF  = this will include the Angler, Non Angler and the Full package series.

For any questions or more details, feel free to contact Vince at (650) 593-6060.

This may be enough incentive to tip me over the edge to just go with the P15... 25% off will pay for a fishfinder... even though that's the only SOT I've so far demo'd and my frame of reference is based soley on your (Mooch's) kayak, there wasn't anything glaring that I didn't like about the P15.

For one thing, I think most of my use will be in the bay, and in fresh water, so not having easy access to below-deck rod storage (for beach launches) is not a huge deal... plus, I also think I can fit a gutted 175 pound hog in the tankwell if need be...

Looks like I'm headed to see Vince in a couple hours...

Thanks for the heads up Joel!!!

I just talked to Brian on the phone... the deal they are offering is really great and I think for a newbie's first SOT fishing yak I can't go wrong with a new P15 for less than $675... sure beats buying that guy's used P15 (currently advertised in the classifieds) for $1,000!!!

I'm going for it!   :smt003

Well that was sure easy!  $674 plus tax out-the-door for a new P15 angler now waiting to be hung in my garage...

I'm debating whether or not to purchase and install the 6" center hatch right in front of the seat... Joel told me his boat flexed enough that the hatch leaked water so much he permanently gooped it shut... I'm wondering what others who weigh about 185# have experienced with this center hatch... when I sit properly in position the deck doesn't appear to flex, but if I slide forward it does a little bit.

Anyway... thanks for the hot tip Joel, and let the pimp'n beging... with the money I saved on the sale I should be able to choose a nice FF...

There was a post a while back - which I cannot find - that had pics and instructions on how to raise the hatch a few inches so it's clearly above the waterline. I remember that the plastic cutting boards were used. Vince from Aquan also mentioned something about installung an "o" ring with the screw in circle hatch to help keep it water tight - I should have tried this before I sealed the hatch - but I was not patient enough  :smt011 Had to take the yak out before I suffered from being land locked too long :smt002

Backcountry - if your planning to haul a pig out of your hunting trip, with gear and all that, I think your better off without that center hatch - just my opinion. A dry bag would be a better alternative.

Anyway, congratulations on your purchase  :smt023 The madness begins  :smt077......

take 25% off the regular price of the P13...better yet, call Aquan. I don't know how many they have in stock but I'm sure they'll sell fast  :smt045

Yeppers, I think I will wait and see how things fare without a small center hatch for a while before I get busy cutting big ingress holes for water... probably will be just fine with out it... but it's good to know I can go talk to Vince about a custom hatch if I so desire... great to have that resource so close to home!

As far as letting any "madness" begin... I'm a life-long gear-sports-hobby nutcase... the kayak-fishing madness is only a different form of madness to distract me from my other diversions... for the past 6 years I've been really into bowhunting... very gear intensive, not unlike kayak-fishing... before that is was hunting with firearms and competative pistol shooting (mo' big bucks on gear)...

To be completely truthful, I've been contemplating begining building a Factory Five AC Cobra replica (351W stroker engine, etc...), and from what I hear, that is some SERIOUS madness, even more serious bucks, and I'm also told the WAF account needs to have an enormous positive balance before undertaking that 1.5-2.5 year long project... I'm a think'n man so I figured it's best to save my marriage (and I'm not even quite married yet) and not build a hot rod now and instead get into something tamer like yak fish'n...

Go figure!   :smt004  Backcountry

FYI, Aquan's "regular prices" are less than Ocean Kayak's suggested MSRP's!

I'm looking for a boat for my buddy Nate, and the woman I spoke with said the 25% for P13 is taken off MSRP ($829) so it would be $622 + tax or about $675 total.

The additional 15% off accessories (paddle, seat, etc.) does not apply with the 25% off purchase.

They still do have stock on the P13's....  She couldn't say how many.

S'what she said...

Aquan still has a few of both P13's and P15's left for 25% off, both non-angler and angler (I am pretty sure).

I was faced with the option of getting either:
a) New Scupper Pro for $745 OTD from Santa Barbara (11 hour trip + another $75 in gas)
b) New P15 from Aquan for $690 OTD (1 hour driving and $7 in gas)

I love the SPTW but I already have a good one, plus I wanted something with more width/leverage for pulling crab pots. And the P15 came with a basic seat, side handles, paddle bungee, and a space for a center tackle tray.

So for $690 total, I took home a new P15 from Aquan (Sunrise, of course).

It's a great deal - so if you want one, don't delay!

Looks like I won a derby a week too late.

I was gonna shoot down there and check out the P15 Angler this afternoon, but all they have left on sale is one display model P13.  :smt010
