I've been scallen ever since I started posting.  The only discussion board on the west coast at that time was in San Diego, and there were already about 4-5 "Allens" on there. So, I went with SCAllen to denote I was from  'up north' in Santa Cruz.  I was the only guy from up here posting at that time.

For the past 8 years or so, my premiere fishing and adventure partner is Polepole, Also named Allen.  To distinguish one from the other while on trips, I opted for "Bushy" a lifelong nickname based on my last name, Bushnell.  (And maybe the fact I had huge frizzy bushy hair).  Not entirely a frivolous decision, as remote locations and boating on the high seas, you have to react and respond immediately when someone calls you. Yeah, to avoid the situation where every time someone yelled "ALLEN!," both of us would spin around.

Anyway, as we progress together I'm using Bushy more and more, and thought I'd go ahead and make it official.  But, I don't want to let go of scallen, and I also refuse to adopt a hyphenated name like the Power Moms here in Santa Cruz use.  So, for now, it's SCAllen (Bushy).

Call me either, just don't call me late for dinner.
