Looks like fishing in San Mateo County (i.e. HMB) is prohibited unless you are in the business of providing fish for an establishment.  I'm guessing the other restricted counties have the same rules but check before you fish.

General Talk / Re: His time is near

This is so sad and it breaks my heart.  His video of him landing in big surf after a day of catching fish has always inspired me to push my kayak fishing to the max.

I last saw him at our hook up in HMB for the 2019 Salmon Season closer.  Him and his friend Mark brought some bomb ass food to share and hung out for a bit.  He wasn't looking great but it was great to see him.  Marvin is a great example of why I love NCKA...dude has a big heart, he shares tons of knowledge, and he's always throwing it down in the kitchen/grill for his homies.  Sending prayers and good vibes to our brother Marvin AKA Shicken

a female "troll"? from the past of NCKA. She got some of the guys's shorts in a wad.

interesting.. so far all she has done is complemented my photos lol

It's because you look like a cute, innocent, little kid.  She likes stressing out the old farts on NCKA

I fished that place a couple of times.  The best times to fish it is when it feels like you're running hard on a treadmill to stay in one spot.  You will drift so far and so fast if you stop and in the fog....you won't even know you're moving that fast until you're miles away

I vote to have the venue moved north, closer to HMB.  Holiday Hoedown at OPL or Hop Dogma!  I need crabs for christmas!

Awesome!  Looking forward to fishing with you and seeing those surf launching and landing skills in use!

I think this method is perfect for bigger kayaks that are harder to land in the surf like Hobie PA and AIs/TIs.  I took a class with California Canoe & Kayak a couple of years ago and it definitely gave me confidence to launch and land in big surf.

Recently, on big surf landings I like to come in backwards with my Mirage Drive 180.
I found the class at California Canoe & Kayak website.  This would be a perfect class for me.
Thank you.
