It looks like it is a complete system. Depending on your kayak and how you plan to mount the transducer, you may need something for it.

Had one I found it a bit to small for me up graded to a hook 5 both can have ff/ds/and gps but you do need to check what your ordering there are a few transducer options and I believe not all units come with gps
The unit is easy to use and I like it I have it on my ascend

I got the same exact one for my gf's kayak. It's tiny but it's worth it.  It comes with the sun cover and nav maps. Worth $200

Also this is the only FF that shows the time. My raymarine and humminbirds never had this feature.  :smt013

Good as in working? Good as in does a good job? Good as in best for the price? Define good.

LOwrance makes good fishfinders that do the job very well. I have a hook 4 on my Thresher. I am putting a hook 5 on my Radar. I cant see the need for anything larger on a kayak.

Never had a FF before so no idea what good is myself lol.   My definition of good was is there a better unit out there at that good of price.   And from the feedback i think this is a good unit a good choice and a good deal.
