Finally the putter is operating normal again. I'll share what I know about Vallejo's Lake Chabot. At the North end near the dam the Max. depth is 20 foot. There is  sort of an imposed MLPA because we are not allowed on the half of lake that borders Discovery Kingdom Park. Some fishermen believe the last catfish was caught back in the 80's by a young man named Jed. I personally know this is not true because I witnessed my friend Alex catch a 22 inch one off a pontoon boat two years ago. Was that the last Kitty? That is questionable. What's with the mirror? It is an adapted bicycle mirror from Target. When fishing calm water I turn the Mirage Drive around and raise the rudder. I rest the paddle on my lap dipping as needed to steer, same as done on SOB Yaks (some other brand). To kayak on Chabot one is supposed to get a Waiver of Liability, a boating permit from the Greater Vallejo Recreation District. This is good for six months. I suspect weekdays during normal business hours the office would be open. This form has no cost. I have never been asked to produce it. Where were the lunker bass? When done fishing I stowed my gear and turned around the Mirage drive back around. While doing these tasks the wind blew me where I wasn't supposed to be. The park was closed and security didn't catch me. I consider those bass to be protected. dave...

Dave's favorite lake trolling style is using live baits under the bobbers.  He puts his mirrage drive in reverse and moves backward so he can see the bobbers in front of him.  He uses the mirror to see where he's going.
