Goldenarrow:  I have installed them, but I have sold those boats.  I have pics some where.  Not sure if youv'e got the track yet, but my only cpmplaint is they are a bit heavy.  I am in the process of swiss-cheesing one right now for my x-factor.

I really like there rod holders though, even without the track. since the rod butt doesnt come out of the end of the holder, its not in the way like with a Scotty or others.

....there's just no place to land a good size fish.

I agree.  Try landing a big sturgeon or a fiesty halibut on that cluttered deck and you'll like have your expensive electronics trashed.

I bet the guy who owned that yak never landed anything big before he rigged it.

Ken... I just picked up one of those Ram Tube rod holders as well.  I am  impressed at how sturdy they are... very good quality for the money.

I just mounted it tonight... I think I'll like this one.

The only concern I had was the size of the base.  It is pretty small where it attaches to the kayak.  I was concerned that it might torque the plastic on the kayak if it gets jarred too  hard.  I made a backing plate out of 3/8" delrin for it... should be good and sturdy.

By the way... there's a new West Marine store in Santa Rosa that I just discovered this week.  I guess they've been open since December.  It is awesome... very well stocked.  I've already spent my share of time walking the aisles like a kid in a  toy store.

Erik, glad you like it!

Re: mount -I just used a larger Stainless steel fender washer w/polylock nut to secure mine and it works fine.

Tip-If you leave the tension just right you can tilt it forward (w/your foot) pointing skyward out of the way to paddle, then stop pull it back to where you had it and resume fishing (I tilt mine forward alittle so it's easier to pull the rod in and out)  As I said I have my FF on the same "Ram" setup and that's even better, I just loosen it a little and push it aside so I can shimmy up to the front hatch and have optimal access.  I have a Prowler 15' and the front of the foot well has a flat spot that you really can't use, it's ideal for mounting things! I think your going to love it!
