Unless Craig is doing the rigging for you, I wouldn't do anything other than the fishfinder until you take her out and fish a little bit.  Just take a milkcrate and put your fishin stick under your leg at first.  Its nice to know what your ergonomics are before you start stickin holes in nice boats.  Im in the less is more camp.

Craig, that killer whale trident is so freaking cool!

John knows! A nice clean deck is a good working deck.

Let the fun begin!

I agree w mbp. Check out other people's stuff. See how they do it. Ask a lot of questions. Look at the pics under rigging. Think hard about it.  Imagine yourself fishing.  Where ya gonna put that fish ? Can you reach the fish finder ? Rod holders? What handed are you.? Are you trolling w a downrigger? Where is your paddle gonna go ? Anchor? Crab traps? How's that gonna fit on your rack?  Any obstructions? Scotty? Ram? You got the $? Buy new or used accessories ? Check the boards see what's cheap or free.  Most important. Can you reach the extra beer?   I guarantee you as soon as you drill a hole... you later think.... I should put that there instead of here and I can't have that there. Well I did anyway.

VK, you probably wouldn't want to let your kayak sit like that on a couple of sawhorses for a long period of time. It will leave dents or "oilcan". Im not sure if the towels/cushions would help. Im just talking from experience. I think best if you turn it upside down instead. Oh, and congrats on the new kayak.
