Hi, I just registered here. I tie and sell my own flies and I was wondering what kind of flies do fly fisherman use in California?

Thank You

I'm pretty sure we only use the wooley Bugger out here.

I'm not even going to touch that.

Whatever fish you  angling for should determing what fly you use.
Don't get me wrong the wooly bugger is one of the most popular flies in the word.
Example: for stripers or bass I use baitfish patterns, my own, as well as deceivers
as well as clousers in various colors.
For trout although wooly bugggers do the job sometimes, The adams. Blue wing olive as well as Pleasant tail nyphms  and a host of others can do the trick.
Good luck.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.
