Hello all,

Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience using the Nomad Design vibe type lures. I feel like these would be great for RF and lings, a slightly different presentation than they've likely seen before. The addition of rattles and thus sound is intriguing. What does everybody think?

For anyone interested these are the lures I'm talking about:

I have the Savage Gear squid that I used a couple of times. Didn't get a lot of hits but honestly I didn't try hard enough.

The nomad might be better. But it also might be that it's designed to catch fisherman and not fish.

That nomad squidtrex has been everywhere on YouTube. I've probably watched 4 videos on it and am rather impressed but haven't read anything in regards to its effectiveness in our local fisheries. I picked up some 13 fishing octopus jigs on clearance at fisherman's warehouse towards the tail end of rockfish season and it did well enough granted it only had a glow skirt and no rattles nor glow pattern of the nomad.

I think the Nomad lures are more for warmer water species but I like the idea of adapting them to work for RF and lings. I think the Squidtrex just came out so they are trying to hype the bait up a bit and get the word out, in my opinion I think it would be great for Lings especially.

According to the video, “real squid scent”, so don’t leave it inside the hull of your kayak on a hot day…
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...
