Put in at Rio Vista today along with dozens of power boats.  Kicked all of the way to 3 mile slough and back along the west bank.  Looks really nice along the sandy beach park area, lots of boats trolling.  Saw lots of signs of life on the fish finder, but none on the end of my line!  saw two very small fish caught, and one couple hauling a nice 8 pounder or so out of the skiff at the boat ramp.  First time fishing there, but will go back.  Water was perfect color for trolling!  Used Rat-L-Trap, Swim bait and striper jig while trolling for nada! :smt007

Thanks, I have a Grand Banks 36 at Sausalito, but I have been really enjoying using the Hobie Kayak since I bought it a month or two ago!  Very addicting!  Love the work out and love the close contact with the elements. Have not had the courage yet to go to Tomales or Bodega and will lean on a few of you when I do!

Great report & pic despite no hook-up. Sometimes that's what it's all about!  :smt004

Way to get out there. When is the Mother Ship Trip to the Islands :smt002
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I am dying to get to islands.  Have not found a day yet where it looks flat and the tides are going my way but it is surely something I will do!   I had not thought of bringing the yaks but that would be very interesting!  Here is the Ruby Port at Angel Island recently.

Thanks!  A Grand Banks is something to truly appreciate!  I have really fallen in love with this boat and may step us to a slightly larger version at some point and keep it in La Paz for my retirement years.

Welcome aboard Zinful1,

Sorry about the skunk. You did pick a good area to fish for stripers. I have done very well there casting lipless crank baits at the tullies. Good luck.

thanks for the encouragment!  I am assuming the rat-l-trap counts as a lipless crank bait?   You find stripers hanging in the tulies just like LMB?   I trolled along the tulies pretty close, it seemed to get pretty shallow there for the most part.  I do not give up easy and love to be on the water no matter what.  I run my company from my cell phone so lucky enought to be able to fish while I am working.  It sounds like this area is known for some pretty good wind and rollers eh?  Jim
