Hey was wondering if anybody can keep an eye out for my crab ring. I was out there this weekend and lost one next to the point of the rocks at the jetty. I dont know if it was stolen or got pulled down at low tide. I waited and couldnt find it so I had to leave. Its a raised hoop net with an orange tide bottle tied to it with my name Sophann and phone number. heres what the float looks like. Thanks in advance.

I would never trust a float like that bassed on prior experiences. Get yourself a real float that isn't dependant on being uncrewed.
Just my thoughts

The rule applies to traps only, not hoop nets. See last sentence of excerpt.
Maybe best to have it on there all the same?

"Crab traps not operated under the authority of a commercial passenger fishing vessel (also known as
charter or party boat) must possess a buoy and each buoy must be legibly marked with the operator of
the trap’s GO ID number as stated on his or her sport fishing license. This regulation will help to ensure
that crab traps are being used by the designated operator of the trap in order to prevent others from
unlawfully disturbing or removing crab from crab traps. If you are using another person’s trap, written
permission from the owner of the trap must be in your possession in order to operate the trap. This
regulation is not applicable to hoop nets."

There are dozens of lost or abandoned hoops on that jetty.  Dive it at slack water and you can get all you want.

My local dive club does a jetty cleanup in May and probably will find it if another diver doesn't first.  We generally get up to 50 hoop nets with maybe 10 usable.

I lost two pots Sat. searched for a good hour before giving up and then went out Sunday and found them a good distance from where I dropped them. Either drugged by a boat or poached and dropped in the windy conditions. I don't think it could be the current, they were weighted. Was happy to find them and they had 5 good sized dungies to boot.
Hope your gear finds it's way back to you.

I saw a tide bottle float. Tried to memorize th last few digits of the GO ID number but forgot it while I was looking for my lost pot.
I saw the tide bottle off the  coast in front of the bathrooms far off to the right of the jetty and launch area.
