I don’t have a way to transfer my kayak currently. The only car I have is a big 2016 Ford transit for work. The wife is prego (4month) and I don’t have a way to transfer the baby either.

I’m thinking of buying a personal car. Any idea on what’s good best for the kayak and also just a good all around maybe suv.

Someone told me to buy a 4Runner.

What are ur guys thoughts?

Are you talking new or used?
Parts for used American SUVs are much cheaper than their foreign counterparts.
Something to consider when buying used.

Get a trailer then you can use almost anything to haul your stuff around and have more space in the car/truck/van for wife’s and kids
And more fishing stuff

Without throwing your back out

I drive a 2004 CRV with almost 250k miles on it, and I constantly abuse it. It's the best car I've ever owned, by a longshot. But, the wife has a 2013 CRV and it ain't half as good. So if you're going to buy new, I don't know what to recommend...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

This.  Get a dependable car, unless your wife likes fishing on a yak, you will find it that most of the use is not for yak fishing.  As far as brand, for a used one,  a Honda or Toyota is mostly are the way to go.  Toyota SUVs are known for long lasting.

I think a well-checked 4runner is a good choice.  I have a sedan and partial to Honda/Acura brand, so don't take my word for it.
