They have needed that hull forever, could be a great boat.  They have also updated the mirage drive for this boat as well for better top speed.  Their new prices however are nutty!

AWESOME... Thanks for heads up, Elric.  Nearly two years ago, I talked to talked to someone at Hobie and suggested this hull design.  I guess someone's listening.  This boat has the potential of smokin' any other similar size SOT.

Unlike the Hobie's Outback model, this boat looks like it could paddle nicely.  The size and design of the hatches and tankwell is a major improvement.
Anyone want to buy my nearly new Outback?:smt003

It kind of looks like the T160 (which is one of the faster yaks).  That thing is probably an absolute rocket on flat water.

How much?

The Adventure is coming in at $1,819 - with the standard mirage drive.

Read all about it here:

http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/5086057385/m/7831088951

There's a bigger drive coming out as well that will fit in older models. The guy testing said he was able to get 6.2mph into a headwind.

Soon it'll be carbon fibre bodies, so don't be surprised about the price tag. Mtn bikes started out the same way. The only thing is that Hobie has proprietary rights to the Mirage Drive, which in IMHO is the only way to go. Fish w/ your hands, paddle w/ your feet. My complaint, as well as others, was the poor body design. Now that has been answered, I think Hobie will give OK a run for its money.

I'll prolly wait after the first run of manufacturing. There was alot of problems w/ cracked hulls at first. Though Hobie did replace/repair them, its just a hassle that I wouldn't want to get into right now.

Wow that is a nice boat! I do ge jealous when I see the outback guys trolling and holding there rods...

hmmm that sounded a little odd  :smt018

but 2k (i am guessing close to it after taxes) is pretty darn steep and a major minus to the WAF balance.

$1,819.... :smt119 .... OUCH!.... I think I'll wait too, but it does look like the ultimate boat if it'll pedal and paddle equally well.

Hmmm... maybe NCKA can get Hobie to sponsor a local derby with the Hobie Mirage Adventure as the top prize.  You know I'll be doing everything to try to win that one  :smt066

Like I said...nice boat, but the price is nutty.  BTW-not to be poop-head but the KFS BBS is full of BS.  I see lots and lots of talking over there but its a LONG time between fishing pictures.

KFS=kayakfishingstuff.com

They've got some great forums, some especially for the particular yak your riding, such as Cobra, Ocean Kayak, Wilderness, Hobie etc...

The Hobie forum is really active on that sight.

They also get some great deals on their closeouts. I got a pair of Farmer Johns 3mm w/ the zip down the middle for only $60.

If you look up your particular brand, you'll see all the mods that these gusy did.  I applied some of them to my yak.
