Yes sir! Unfortunately your Free dive fins are too long to fit in it. :-( , but they will fit in the center hatch :-) . Speared fish will fit in the forward hatch quite nicely though.

how about a beach wheels kayak cart frame?

Not sure. Doubts though.

specs ...payload...price...those guys in the video are smaller guys...any boat looks stable when they are tipping around in it imho...

We put Two people on it and one of us stood up with no problem. It is super stable for any size. We had close to 400lbs on it and one guy standing.

I still have a lot to learn. I did not know newer models change that much on stability.  I guess that's one reason people keep buying new ones or have multiple at home to choose from.

Is there a kayak review magazine or website that goes over all the changes for different water types.

A couple of you made suggestions for us bigger guys and I am keeping notes for when I am ready to buy, but the ones I tried so far all feel wobbly to me. I would love to be able to move around the kayak freely or store stuff up front and not feel like I was going to roll right in the water when trying to access it.

Practice, practice, practice. Till you have hundreds of hours on a kayak you will at times feel off balance. All us us with 1000's of hours every once in a while still do too. I rarely go to the front hatch on mine, but I can whenever I want to. It is just a pain on the water no mater what boat you are in.

To expand on this, The front hatch is its own compartment with no inside hull access. You would not be able to get the wheels AND frame in there I know for sure. Now, with that said, i really don't know about the center hatch, it may work there.

Gotcha, like a tankwell with a hatch on it. Interesting.

Is this supposed to be a "big guy" boat or an "offshore" boat? Because those kinda seem like 2 different things. For offshore, it's hard to beat a T160. And for big guys, it's hard to beat the Ride 135.

i get it...looks sleek..but still looks cramped to me...looks confined compared to my F&D cobra...i would buy a large capacity sleek keel kayak with tons of room and storage...or is that what i have now...

ride 135..oh hi jack thread...over

Wife and I were looking to upgrade from the the tarpon 100s we bought last year, getting our feet wet with whole near shore kayak fishing thing.
We will definitely wait for this to come out now before looking at other models!

It is a lot better now than when I was paddling  the prototypes. Super stable, but still faster than the Ride 135. Not as fast as a Tarpon 160 though. The center hatch is nice too. Handles very well. I will have one in Sept I believe. Maybe a little sooner and I will let whoever wants to try take it out.

I'll definitely take you up on that Rob. Any idea what the price point is going to be yet?

I kinda like the big nose thing to get over waves rather than punch through them like i do on the T-160, but I'm not sure the trade-off is worth it.  For what we're calling offshore paddling for long periods, the old T-160 has a pretty good hull shape.  If this is slower than a 160, then it's not for me--even though I get what they're saying about the surf thing.  For me, I can figure out how to handle the lesser surf abilities (have been for years) if I have to trade off speed and efficiency.

That boat looks like it's got a lot of freeboard.  Could be a problem in wind.

It does look tempting though--no perling on incoming waves is way cool.

It is nice to see fishing kayaks getting back to being kayaks, rather than paddle (or pedal) barges.  Thanks for the preview!  When are they going to make a T-180?  :smt005  that's what I'm looking for.

All the pics of prototypes so far are different than the production boat. It has been trimmed down in height all the way back to catch less wind. The nose too. Also, even though the boat is 30" wide, it is not all in the water. The "footprint" is not much bigger than the Tarpon 160. It will give more deck space without sacrificing much speed. The hull design will give more stability too. I love my 160, but I will get one of these when they come out. I get whatever boat I want every year from Wildy at no charge, and I will get this one based on the prototype testing I did, and the reports of the updates that were made since then from all of our suggestions.  I was told I would be much happier than I was with the prototype, and I liked it then.

Dave, what year is your 160?  My 2013 160 does not punch waves like my 160i does. It rides over them pretty well. Although on occasion I get one in the lap.
