OK, so these are not from a kayak but this was before I owned one, plus I was a little far from home so I'm taking the liberty of sharing these here...
October 2007 at Bung Sam Lan outside Bangkok, Thailand.

This is an old quarry pit that was transformed into a small fishing lake and stocked with some huge native & non-native fish, including arapaima (“Amazonian monsters”), Siamese Giant Carp, and Giant Mekong Catfish.
The place has become an angling destination of sorts & several IGFA records have been set there.

I just wanted to do some fishing while I was there and this place was convenient - took a taxi from inner Bangkok. Didn't get there til night but that's fine considering the tropical weather and the Mekong Catfish feed all night. These things have been known to grow well past the 500 lb range in the wild.  :fat

First pic is the fish I caught, with a Thai guy who was helping me out.
Next is me lookin' a little rough after fighting the fish (the whiskey probably didn't help).
Last is the Thai guy & his buddy with one they caught.

All catch & release. :fish:
