I think it would be cool to have a board for real-time fishing reports. I'd bet that most NCKA'ers already have the technology to post such reports. And if there was a place dedicated to such reports, it would be a lot easier to follow, as opposed to trying to sort them out from the usual report/hookup place(s). Ideally, these real-time reports would automatically migrate to the usual fishing report board (or just vanish) after some (relatively short) period of inactivity, so that any post would be a clear sign of something that's happening now (or nearly so).

You said they'd be moved in with regular reports, but would be different or easier to follow/not mixed up like regular reports; I don't see much difference. Are you talking about having a rod in one hand and your phone in the other? If that's the case, 1,2,3, not it. The only guy I've seen report otw is matanaska, but I think he's got a special type of madness.

Wouldn't that be the same as hot-spotting?

Facebook is what you are looking for.

There are a few folks here who liveblog their fishing on facebook.  Matanaska is indeed pretty awesome at it.

I would probably get a kick out of reading them when I can't fish, but you'd be hard pressed to get me to be on my phone on the water. It would be like an annoying teenager using their phone at the dinner table except I'm the teenager and the dinner table is a fishing trip. YMMV

I'd suggest tagging the report by adding something like [LIVE] to the title. That certainly makes it stand out. Then once you're off the water and reporting from home, edit title to say [RPT] or something...

I tried doing the "live" posting while fishing for perch.  But once the perch started biting I forgot about everything.  Lol!

I'd delete mine eventually anyway  :smt003
But what if somebody quotes your post before deletion?  :smt003

Sounds like there would only be live reports from people not catching fish. So, it would be a useful filter, just not in the way intended...
