I'm thinking of hitting Shadow Cliffs Res. @  Pleasanton for trout , bass or catfish. Water clarity should be OK campared to the other lakes (it used to be a rock quarry - not much mud in this lake)

Company welcome - unless someone comes up with a better option....

Assuming I make contact with the Alviso Boating school this week I will be going there. Tides look good for an early launch and just after noon return.

2005-02-26  8:40 AM PST   1.89 feet  Low Tide
2005-02-26  1:53 PM PST   8.32 feet  High Tide

or if the ocean looks good I am going to hit Capitola, I miss the ocean  :smt010

My first choice, if Bill can get permission to launch at the boat school, is Alviso.

If not, then I'd like to try Del Valle if it isn't all mucked up from all the rain.  There's a chance the lake might improve in time for Saturday.  Shadow Cliffs is just a little too small for me.  I know the water clarity is better, but it's like fishing in backyard pond.

My 3rd choice is the Oakland Airport or China Camp.

Ken, I have not heard of anyone really catching anything down there lately, plus after all the rain they had I imagine it would be pretty nasty.

Hey Bill,

Things are looking up.  Storms leaving the area. Might have to bring the Freshwater stuff to make it work. There always the girls bars down there.

If this weather and swell report holds I am going to scout Capitola with Allen B. second choice is Alviso. Either way I will try to make contact with John about the launch.

Weather is looking good for the ocean, so I might go out and try my new speargun.  Maybe crab while I'm at it.   I'll have to see who else is up for that though.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Well.... I changed my mind altogether.  I'm going to join SteveS for some perchin' action at Stinson beach.

Anyone else interested?

I'll change my plans as well. I'll try paddling around the HMB Harbor for some perch and if nothing pulls my line - I'll leave the kayak at home and shore fish Montara Beach for some Perch.

Company welcome!

It's funny - I just moved to HMB November of last year and have not explored the many hidden beaches along HWY 1. I just can't wait till the weather gets better and the Sun starts setting later in the day so I can fish after work  :smt026

I was actually hoping that you would not join me...because the last time I fished with you  at my "home waters" , you (the visitor) kicked my ass  :smt013

.....I'm thinking of launching by the HMB Kayak Rental place at 8AM.
See you there?
