If you receive an email saying that there was an attempt to access your iCloud account, your account was locked, and to click on a link to secure your account, DO NOT CLICK on the link. Go to icloud.com and try to log in yourself. If you can, you are good to go, especially if you have two-factor authentication turned on. If you want to be extra careful, go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and change your password. And send the email to the spam folder. If you know how to view the raw message, you will see that the return email path is not your carrier.
