Glad you didn't get robbed. It's a shame the laws and attitudes regarding crime are being rewritten and abandoned. Hopefully this trend will cycle back to favor hardworking law abiding people.

More time in the saddle and your brain will adapt to the 16's degree of stability. The 16 is plenty stable.

Hi Kiel!

I still have another Hobie to use. I've been busy doing other things for a while. Currently recovering from knee surgery so I will be off the water for a  bit longer. 🙃

Hobie Kayaks / Re: What's Hobie working on?
« on: May 14, 2021, 01:47:09 PM »
This is what I was dreaming of. Fishing off a Hobie i11s for over a year in all conditions made me know what I really wanted in the future. Well the future is here and the Lynx checks all the boxes the i11s was lacking in. Transducer ready, light weight and bullet proof hull, and accessory mounting options. They really nailed all of the details in making the most light weight fishing platform with the greatest potential for success and fun.

I'm sorry but all of the "not sea worthy" "and slow" comments are ignorance IMO. The i11s was very stable in messy big swell conditions and I'm betting the Lynx will do just fine. The i11s speed was good also and I expect the same from the Lynx. The only deal breaker that made me sell the i11s and go back to a Revo was the inflatable hull occasionally getting micro leaks by rock fish spines. With the Lynx that problem is gone. And they're making it in Dune color...  :smt007

General Talk / Re: Hiking boot suggestion

I'm still happy with my Keen soft toes and hiking every weekend. Any reason for the change away from Keens? I also wear Keen steel toes at work and the quality still seems the same fwiw. For work I get a new pair every year or two as the soles do get worn a bit.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: I11S Inflatable reviews
« on: July 29, 2019, 10:15:14 PM »
I had an I11S for a couple years so I'll chime in. If you want great rudder response you can trim a few inches off of a Hobie sailing rudder, round off the end, and install it on your I11S. That's what I did and it worked great. Perfect tracking without continuous input and it still turned on a dime. Now about the hull fragility......I had problems with micro holes from landing thorny rock fish on the side chamber that I always land fish on. Easily fixed with a single drop of glue...... but sometimes I didn't notice the micro hole until I was already on the water and after hours went by I had a partially deflated chamber. The boat still floats on two chambers but it's time to go in when this happens...... unless it's dead flat. This problem can be solved by clipping a mat just above the waterline on the side chamber that you land fish from. And be careful as you land, clip, and store your catch. I let a beauty of a thresher go so it wouldn't destroy and possibly sink my I11S.

Keep these boats away from extreme heat. The seams are sealed together but extreme heat can cause de-lamination. When I sold mine I noticed the seam that holds the rudder line was beginning to de-laminate.

360, Sitting up that high will make your body into a sail. Even in light winds.

So did you all get your 30 round magazines?  Legal until 5PM today.

No damnit. I was thinking about some bigger mags for my Glock19 but couldn't make up my mind between all the myriad choices ie: 15,19,24,33, big heavy ass drum with xxx rds etc. Plus I missed the bump stock ship too.  :smt044
