Title: Holy bait batman!
Post by: chachie09 on December 21, 2017, 09:27:22 AM
Took the kiddo out for an afternoon on Sonoma on Tuesday. Water and weather were amazing. The lake is down about 10 ft, and the water is clear and cold at 54*, and with the lack of rain the water had not clouded up yet. Lots of bait everywhere, but was tough to find any fish willing to play ball. Caught one 14" buck about 60' OTW on a pink Wicked Lures Trout Killer. A few scratched baits after that but nothing stuck. But overall, a wonderful afternoon on the water with my boy!

Did you try running any lures shallow? Like maybe a silver 1/4 oz kastmaster or criplure put pretty far back.....

Thanks for the report!

Yeah, we covered the column.  Had a rigger double stacked with one at 55 (wicked lures trout killer) and one at 35 (fire tiger SS), a second rigger with one at 20 (green wedding ring), and a top-line with a F7 in clown color.  Only thing we didn't try was running underneath the bait balls (which, after talking to a few folks at the ramp, we should have tried).
