South Sacramento Meet and Greet June 9th...

Hi All,     

 HOW has been invited to a Military Paralympic event in South Sacramento on June 9th.

It's basically a chance to meet wounded warriors and talk to them about HOW.  It's also a good way to get their numbers as to be able to call them personally to ask if they would like to go fishing instead of relying on the VA or other Military agencies.

It's basically from 10 to 1:00 down on Meadowview.

I've done about a 1/2 dozen of these and it's really nice just to talk about the program and chat with these brave folks about kayakfishing...

I'll have my yak set up and that brings'em over...

but it does get a little overwhelming as the questions and interest is high.

So, if anyone is interested, let me know, only need one or 2 and no big deal if nobody can make it. Certainly don't want to see anyone making a long special trip for this, I can handle it.

ps..  Don't know if ya all had a chance to check the weather this last Saturday... but here is a e-mail I received from Mr. Kelsey about the rain and wind at the Ranch on Saturday....


 

Just letting you know the VA made the right call. It started raining this morning early and has kept raining since. At 1:00 pm we have received around .50" with some 15+MPH wind gusts so it was good not to hold it today.

That's what I'm talkin bout!!!

Can't make it with work and practice, but nice work.  I suspect many of the vets don't care for the red tape formalities either.

 But like I said before, this stuff is LOADED with red tape and it's taken a year and a half just to get to this point. Good news is we are getting known and things are progressing.

 Today went well, met many past participants and potential new ones. Made some good networking contacts today too.

I hope to do something soon, end of June beginning of July. It will be a smaller event as whoever we get will be a personal invite. Anything to do with the various veteran agencies takes months of pre planing.
