barefoot1 +1....

sounds good,

looks like we will have a nice contingency of wives to keep things in line

Were up to around 20 volunteers, that's pretty good considering were over a month away, I expect sudden changes in lives, so if anyone can't make it no problem, just let me know. We are overshooting everything...

I'm going to contact the VA tomorrow and probably open this up to around 30 +/- Vets...

If all goes wells, the only thing we will need to bring is our own yaks, Food and fishing gear, I have 13 setups now

  Thank You Yakhopper and Diawia!!!

so we will need around 15 more extra rod/reel set ups for Del Valle fishing...

will keep ya all posted about my progress with Sunrise and what their participation will be....

Thanks Again for what you are ALL doing...   but

be warned...  we all worked our Butts off at the last event....

and it was a Great Time....

I will be there with my 2 rod and reel sets and my kayak.  Do you need boat support for drinks and munchies while they are fishing?

Thanks Lapulapu,

Ya, if you have a PB, that would be Great...

Increases our options per the VA still does not have a firm Grip on what were doing,,,

I expect that some of the Vets coming won't even be able to get into a Kayak....

we also might still need to bring some extra yaks...

Sunrise mountain sports is on board, but they are also having a

" Used kayak Sale September 17 at their Livermore store.... "    :smt002

problem for us is their best kayaks might be gone and we won't know this till middle of September. They still will have plenty of kayaks, but what has me a bit concerned for the Vets that really want to try " KayakFishing... ",

It would be best if they had kayaks with rod holder at least and a quality ride...

So, we really will not know for another 2 weeks on the extra yak total, but I feel if we brought another 10 or so extra yaks that are bit more dialed for fishing, we should be fine... The good news even if the yak selection is a bit poor, they still will have plenty of extra paddles and pfds.... more on that later...

Geez, Don, guess I haven't even been a good lurker 'cuz I just now found this thread.  :smt009

I would be honored to help with this event--anything you need on dry land (admin, meet and greet, outfit paddlers, launch paddlers, etc.). Just let me know where and when (even before the event, if needed).

I can bring 2 tandem Malibu 2s. Plus 4 rod and reels.
I won't know if I have the day off yet but if not I can drop off my gear with someone attending.
Count me in and if I can't attend I am happy to fund some of the food expenses.
Dave

Thanks so Much FlyingFishRow and I'll put ya on the list,

it's my way of keeping tract

Let me know if ya can't make it, and I noticed your in the Big El Sob as I...

If we need extra Yaks, which I'm hopeful we will not, I can pick yours up...

but I know we will need extra rod/reels.....

 Still need volunteers....

This particular event has the potential to be very large, with the possibility of getting Vet's family members just out to kayak a little...

Please keep posted ya all...  I hope to have more solid info by the end of this week or next, and then we will start some serious planning....

Thanks Again for All of you making this a reality.....

Does anyone know how big the BQ's are at the picnic areas?

should have some details soon about how things are going to roll...

We are probably going to have 30 plus Vets, and some families will be there.

My hope is to get them out too, probably just out on yaks for fun...

so we will need those just to take out family,

I will be getting more detailed soon and dishing out assignments...

stay tuned,  and more volunteers are welcome...

just waiting for a few more important replies from EBRP Officials...

This is what I have so far in Volunteers,

This one promises to be big, so all the help we can get would be Great...

The future HOW events will be different as we are getting away from the mission of HOW to have smaller, more intimate outings to focus one on one with the Vets to give them a full day of what kayak fishing is really like. But for the moment, we have the resources and the people to make this kind of event happen, and if successful, which I feel it will be, we should be able to put on a event with Family and go big a few times a year or more...

Thanks Again for All you are doing!!!!

 Thanks,

And the Volunteers are....

Please let me know if any Volunteers listed here can not make it and always looking for more....

and even if we get all the extra kayaks we need from the rental fleet, we are still going to need lots of fishing poles and gear....

I've got 6 zebco kiddie reels...  :smt003

Don't know our target species... might be just soaking sardines for stripers or catfish...
and bmb said they started planting trout last week...

Frankfishing is going to put on a pre-fishing clinic, not sure of date yet...

stay tuned...

Thanks Ben...

we'll give ya the scoop!!!

It looks as though there is interest in camping the night before....

as far as I know, that would have to be away from the day use area and would require setting up a camp site away from what were doing. We could do that, get more pre-fishing, and leave everything there on the 8th morning, and set up the event, and use the camping area as a satellite base for those venturing down the lake a bit.

I'm not sure this works for me as "I have a lot to do... ",  but Frankfishing and a few others have expressed interest in this and could understand for those coming from far away.

so lets see who is interested and I will also be talking to EBRP about maybe camping in the day use area that night... I don't expect that to fly though...  :smt009

and we now have a Commercial Grade BQ coming from Valley Ford via Spike, Nick and Kayakjack ...

 Well Done Men!!!
