Hi folks,

Thinking to get a sail for my ocean kayak trident 13 for longer distance.  Would appreciate if you could share your fishing experience with a sail on kayak. Would I need to add a rudder and stabilizer float along with the sail? I am concerned the fishing jig might be tangled with these add-on item...

Thank for your advice!

I have a Windpaddle round sail that I am selling. Search NCKA classified. Stows into a 16 inch by 4 inch bundle. No rudder or mast needed. Good for downwind only. You cannot tack upwind with this rig. But you can haul ass downwind.

I've never tried one of those downwind sails, but I do use the small Hobie sail sometimes:

I don't have any outrigger/stabilizer. You do need to pay careful attention to what you're doing. And you'd definitely need a rudder---a daggerboard helps a lot too.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...
