I've been looking at buying a foldable sail for those downwind end of day paddle assistance.. When you are out 4-6 miles it sure makes a big difference and a few buddies of mine have one.

Do any of you guys have familiarity with the windpaddle brand vs. the advanced elements brand? Looks like the Advanced Element sail would cover more ft of air getting the max wind production. However it may be too big to try to control.

The windpaddle looks awesome and sleek, maneuverability looks pretty great as well.. Here are links to what I've been looking at, any feedback would help as the Advanced Elements one is 1/2 the $$$ of the windpaddle brand.

Thanks for the help guys!!

haven't used either, but my biggest question is how easy are these to take down once they've been deployed?  ie: you've done your downwind run and now need to turn, how fast can you make that happen?

14' Necky Dolphin, fast and wiggly, no room for anything.

I've seen my buddies break there's down in seconds, they're like the window shades in your car where they fold into a 12" circle... Only thing that takes time is clipping the lines on your vest and yak... But I'd agree I'd want to know which one was easier to deal with

I'm interested in the Sea Eagle Quick Sail. Has anyone tried one of these? Not trying to jack the thread, just seeing it as another option vs. the two listed. Looks like this one might allow you to tack? Might be able to diy with two fiberglass poles and some sheet material? Spending a lot of time on the delta had me thinking of ways to go up wind with less effort. I'd have to come up with some kind of dagger board to tack, but that shouldn't be too hard.
