Whats up with some of the dates on the posts?

Anyways I am itching and will be back from my Hawaiian vacation on the 15th.  Is anyone bringing an RV?  I have a travel trailer that i may want to bring if this is going to be a party.  Otherwise is everyone just doing a day trip?

Funny it's been blowing like a mo fo all week and the day I plan a sailing hookup no wind.  :smt005 :smt013 Looks like a nice day for fishing. Bring your sails in case there is some wind in the afternoon. I'll be bringing Mann dogs, beer, utensils and plates and a grill. Let's he an official head count. Who is in? Let's go for lunch at 1PM.

I'm the JINX!  Everytime I make plans to sail... the wind miraculously dies down.  I'm 0-3 on attempts at a full day of sailing!

I'm still in though.  What are we fishing for: salmon, rockfish, sanddabs, halibuts, or E) All of the Above?   Just trying to figure out what gear needs to come with me.

I'll bring a grill and a dish of something as well.

Hey Scott,

I will join. What time should we get there? I can bring seasoning and paper plates.
Same question. What fish do we target? How do we rig the rods?

I'd like to caravan with you if you don't mind. I promise I won't be late this time, seriously :smt003. And I can carry more stuff if you need to.

There are a bunch of macks in that area right now. I would cruise out towards the red mile buoy and get some dabs first, then target rockfish/lings (technically can't use more than 2 hooks once you have rockfish onboard). Maybe even troll a plug or spoon between spots or when sailing to load up on macks too.

Love you guys and your AI enthusiasm. I actually own a Hobie 18.. which under sail, will smoke any AI (I think).. .but as I've learned the hard way.. only sand or rocks will stop a Hobie 18.... so its a pretty impractical fishing platform. (Drat!) If someone has figured out how to do it, I'd like to hear.
With you in spirit.

How about some rod holder mounts (PatR's) on the akas and/or rudder bar?  It might be difficult to hover over structure or clip to kelp, but small eletric trolling motor might work(?).

It seems like the 18 would make for a nice, comfortable troller with tons of deck space.  Just some ideas while I pass the time in the office.  :smt003

Yes, the "Alien" Monterey tour. Red buoy for dabs first, then troll a sabiki or small kastmaster down to the yellow can for macs then fish the yellow can for rocks and lings. Use the dabs and macs for ling bait. Then head in for shore lunch at 1PM. My first saltwater kayak trip was with Alex (Alien) and Eugene (E2G) 10 years ago out of MBK and we did this route. I was with my son in a Malibu 2XL. Some things never change. Fishing was better then though. I plan on arriving at MBK around 630-7AM. Parking at the parking lot just north of MBK, shore lunch at the picnic tables. I'll have 3# of squid also which works well there.

George, I can swing by your house and caravan down if desired.
