Hey guys,
Great forum you've got here. I've been lurking for weeks, reading all the posts I could.
Just registered the other day.

I tried the Hobie Mirage Adventure on Sunday at Lake Del Valle. It was nice!
However, it's a tad too long for me (storage & car-topping), so I'm thinking of going with the Mirage Classic.
Trouble is, the kayak rental shop at Del Valle (Sunrise) doesn't have the Classic available for rentals (they only have the Sport, Outback and Adventure)
They had a Classic on their May 20th demo day (which I attended), but I stupidly didn't try any of the pedal-series ones.

Does anyone know any places in the East Bay (or SF Bay area) where I can try out a Mirage Classic?
Sunrise has 1 in stock so I'm tempted to pick it up, but I really oughta try one out on the water before I commit.

I'm more into pedalling & paddling for exercise, so I don't need a kayak that fishes really. Otherwise, I'd go with the Outback or Adventure in a heartbeat.

Thanks!
-Ted

Ted, try California Canoe & Kayak in Oakland's Jack London Square.

If they don't have the Classic, let me know.

ChuckE,
Thanks a lot. I called CCK in Oakland and indeed they have the Classic available for rental
I'll check it out this weekend and see how I like it.
Thanks for the quick reply btw - appreciate it!

Try Surf City Catamarans in Santa Cruz Harbor. The owner Jeremy is really nice and will let you have a spin in the harbor for free.

Try the new Hobie Revolution (Revo for short).  It is a shorter Adventure, and will replace the classic.  It's basically like a Quest with pedals.
