Hi NCKA,

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I'm a newbie looking to get into kayak fishing.  I've been a fisherman for my whole live and just learned to scuba dive a few months ago.  A friend of mine told me about this group and said I should join.  His name is Sunny...not sure what his handle is.

Anyway, I live in Sacramento and hunt n' fish all over the west.  I have an 16 foot tracker v bottom I fish all over the state including the bay, rivers, and lakes.  I dont own a Kayak yet...but am in the market.  If anyone on here has one for sale that is totally rigged up let me know.  I'm willing to spend some $$, but have a lot of stuff to trade as well.  If there are any fellow deer hunters here I have a new in the box never shot savage 30.06 +$$ I'd be willing to trade.

Some of you might know me from other sites...my handle is usually some variation of birddog.  I try and always write reports after I come home and try and take pictures...I a better report maker than pic taker.

Anyway, website looks cool.

Cheers,
Joe

Welcome aboard Joe. You will find a lot of good people on this site that are willing to share their fishing knowledge and expertise with you. If you are looking for a kayak, check out the classified section and you will definitely find a good used kayak. Once again welcome aboard.

Welcome to NCKA Joe.  I have a rigged up kayak (rod holders, fish finder, etc...) that we might work out a trade with your 30.06.  PM me if you interested or for more details about the yak.

WTTM, I recognize you from JHO I think.  I haven't been on there in several years, kind of migrated over here  :smt001 .  Though I don't have any boats for sale, I have 3 loaners available most of the time if you want to get out on the water :)

The sad thing is that yak fishing has taken over all the life space usually filled with hunting and hiking....

It can get bad!  :smt004

Cool Jim sounds good.  I'll have to get out with you.  I fished the Feather River for stripers last weekend from my PB.  One could probably do a float trip down the feather in a kayak with live bait....I bet one could really get into them doing that.  Is that possible to do in a fishing kayak?

That's funny Jim,hunting fully took over my kayak fishing obsession, although I shot some ducks out of my kayak last season.

Thanks for all the insights on my gear and what not and the trade offers.  I revieced 2 trade offers one for a Feelfree Moken and the other for a Ocean SP. The SP fell through so looks like I'm getting the Feelfree.  I dont know anything about this boat and can find very many reviews.  I do know it is pretty heavy...

I also purchased a Uniden VHF, a Harvey's 2 piece wetsuit. \

I'm still in the market for a PFD. If you guys have any sugestions let me know.

Joe
