these are great to have....I just bought mine.

I first used them during our last outing.  I liked them alot.

I wore them all day and they have enough dexterity to actually bait your hook without removing them.  They keep your hands warmer and are more comfortable to wear than neoprene gloves.

They aren't totally waterPROOF... but they keep water out for quite a while initially.  I found that by the end of the day, and after having immersed them in water a number of times, they were damp inside, but still provided warmth to my hands.

I'd like to get the socks too... they would add some warmth to the toes when wearing a wetsuit and booties all day.

I found my problem was that the constant pressure on my heel in the footwells caused a loss of circulation that made my feet cold.  I put them up on my ghettobar to get the blood flowing again.

My hands did get kinda cold with no gloves...

Josh... from the looks of ya when you pulled up to the dock last time we were out, you had circulation problems in more places than just your heels.

You were BLUE dude!  I mean smurfishly blue.   :smt017

As I recall... the first words out of Elric's mouth when you got to the dock were "Dude... you're blue".

I noticed your color came back once you loosened your wet suit... could there be a connection?   :smt042

I hope your Seal Skinz gloves are better made than my socks.  I have a pair of their expensive waterproof knee-high socks.  They kept my feet warm but never totally dry for a few outings, then the fragile waterproof membrane started separating and tearing between the Coolmax lining and the nylon/Spandex exterior.  I tried contacting Seal Skinz by email and never got a response.   The bottom line is they offer no warranties or guarantees on any of their products.

As Chuck mentioned about the warranty, I'd take another look at what you're getting, especially if you're going to be padding. The twisting and wrenching motion can put alot of wear and TEAR on a pair of gloves.

For paddling, I've been using a pair of full fingered neoprene gloves for the cold and fingerless ones for warmer temps.  They're cheap and warm even when soaked.  The only drag with the full fingered type is that I have to pull them off to bait my hooks.   However, one nice plus is that my thick gloves make me almost fearless when picking up crabs.

Chuck - if you bought them at REI, return it to any store - you just need to tell them why you are returning it - they will credit you for it. This is why I encourage my friends to buy from REI - the return policy is incredible! Before I worked for REI, I returned a back pack that I had used for 3 years. I returned it (for an upgrade) and got partial credit for a new one.  :smt023

I think I was blue due to low oxygen from paddling so hard.  I was almost getting tunnel vision by the time I pulled up to the dock...

If anything, my wetsuit would squeeze more blood up to my head.  I only wore it up to my waist.  That wetsuit is kinda small on me though... I have a larger one, but it's a tad thinner and much nicer.  Want to keep it clean and hole-free for diving.
