Hey all! Been fishing around the northbay for probably 8 years now consistently.  No yak, but a 14' 'luminum.  Many of you have probably seen me and the boy trolling lake sonoma for chrome.  Looking forward to the wealth of information this forum has to offer!  I am very versed in trolling, and i am actually looking to start getting some other people out on the water and on some fish! Thanks for having me!

Hmm, contemplating trolling in the kayak on Lake Sonoma, on my way to scout for pigs.  Any tips?

And welcome.  Did you get a kayak or still using the bateau?

Depends on the time of year really, and im not familiar with pig seasons.  Ive seen a couple different yak's out there with downriggers, seems like that would be the way to go.

No yak, still in the luminum!

Lake Sonoma has a special pig season that runs from Late November through March.  I figure that i will multi-task and troll while I paddle to get to the hunting spot. Prolly will have to much equipment to add a downrigger.

Even better, most fish that time if year will be chasing shad up high in the water column.  I would surface troll a purple/pink trolling fly, or similarly colored F7/F9 rapala.

Check out friends of Lake Sonoma and get a pass for $35. I'll go with most anybody.  It's bow only though.
